So Doc, What are my options?
Monday evening 8/17/09:
Today I went to see my family doctor and ask if I had any other options besides what Dartmouth Med Center offered me. I’m even willing to stretch a bit and look at eastern cultural medicines like Chinese or India medicine … but it doesn’t look good for that at the moment. My doc suggested taking the traditional route to get rid of as much cancer as possible and then use alternative methods for the recovery process …. which makes sense.
See, I didn’t like what the Dartmouth had to offer me … even in their best case scenario, it wasn’t a good thing. I was hoping for another choice … but it didn’t work out that way … at least not yet.
I do have two other things I want to check out prior to making up my mind and committing to the surgery. There’s a Chinese Dr. named Tom Tam on Lincoln St. in Boston who comes highly recommended and also Dr. Jay Glaser of Sterling Ma.
Both these Drs. study and use alternative methods …. which is really the only possible chance I have of not having this surgery. But my hopes are not high.
I’ll be calling them Tuesday for consultations.
Today I brought Al to his swimming lessons and back to his Grandfathers house while I went to the Dr. appointment.
Got home, made dinner and that was the end of my day!
