Guitar Hero – Rock Band 2: Saturday, January 16, 2010
What a great day weather wise … FINALLY a little bit of warmer air blew in and we reached the forties for a few hours. I’ve seen colder winter days then we’ve had this year, but it’s been the consecutive cold days that has gotten to me. It feels good to have a break. I know, I know, winters not over yet but it sure feels good to be a bit warmer.
We’ve had guests at the house this weekend so not much time for writing, and what I do have I’ve been working on a few Scifillian clients. Unfortunately I’m still behind in catching up with my work (four months off), but a little longer it’ll just have to be.
I’ve been wanting to get one of the ‘Guitar Hero’ or ‘Rock Band 2′ type games for Alberic and myself, but the packages they’re selling are so freaking confusing. I really can’t decipher what the heck it is I’m buying. They all seem to be so similar yet so different. They’re not cheap either … so the decision on which set to purchase for starting off with, really set the tone for any future additions you want to make.
Between the songs, drums, guitars, mikes and all the other stuff you need it’s a mind-boggling decision. Someone should simplify it … like, here’s all the crap you need, to play all the songs you want, and that’s it. Maybe you know more about it then I do, and that’s the case … speak up! I’m a novice at this but it looks like an awful lot of fun.
There are also several different companies making the stuff now, and not all of it appears to be compatible with each other … so that adds another dimension of complexity to the purchase. Strange how that always happens
Now, I do know how to play guitar (in real life) … but to games like this I have to assume that would almost be a negative attribute … but I could be wrong about that too! And of course throughout my life I’ve played all kinds of instruments at one time or another, as well as singing lead or back up vocals … I don’t think I’ll have a problem there.
Anyway, if you know anything about either of these games (for the Wii) let me know. I’ve never played any of them so I have no idea which way to go.
I’m feeling pretty well today…a tad tired from the busy week. This Thursday I head back to Boston for some tests, which I believe Sher will going with me, for a long grueling day of travel, tests, torture, and more travel … there and back in a day is no fun.
I did have some trouble this week with my legs … they’ve been getting awful tired at the end of each day, and that for some reason seems to be getting worse all the time. Earlier in the week I thought it was because I had made so many trips to the printer at work … but now I’m not sure it that’s the real reason.
Sometimes it feels like my legs are made of lead … heavy, especially the back of my calves … kind of feels like a bowling ball is hanging from them … it’s an odd feeling, but it’s there. I’ll have to ask about this while in Boston. My thought is that it’s lack of blood supply to my lower right leg. After-all, that’s been a problem for awhile now … that’s what the whole “walking thing: is about. But, it seems to be changing too.
Can’t wait for summer … maybe I just need to walk more, it’s been so darn cold out that it’s discouraging to walk anywhere … especially for me because I’m walking slower then my normal these days. Ahhh, who knows, we’ll see what they say in Boston!
Well, that’s it for the today … back to work.
