Conversations with Doc: Audio MP3′s
I have been digitally recording as many conversations with doctors, as often as I can. Some are long boring conversations or there are silent parts when we may be on the other side of the room. But they do contain real conversations with the doctors while they tell me about my cancer, what I can expect and about upcoming surgeries.
If you’ve ever wondered what kind of questions a person might ask a doctor in a life and death scenario … well, listen in. These recordings are frank and have not been altered in anyway. They were recorded on a little Olympus Digital Voice Recorder (WS 100) and then converted to mp3 format. Background noise, hiss and everything has been left in them. They are as real, as real gets.

Recorded Wednesday, August 26th with Dr. Sohail Mirza at Dartmouth. He is the lead surgeon for my operation that was supposed to happen this weekend (8/31/2009), but we opting out for more time to check out alternatives. The alternative being Proton Therapy in Boston. The first part of the conversation is with Dr. Ames, then there is a 20 min segment where Sher and I are in the room alone, and fianlly Dr. Mirza comes in to talk.
