Proton Therapy Centers Around The Globe:

After receiving proton treatment in late 2009 at MGH in Boston MA. I decided that I'd provide a list of all the Proton Therapy Centers around the globe that I could locate. Proton Therapy saved my life, or at a minimum, bought me a lot more time to spend with friends and family. I hope you find this list useful and up to date. If you know of a center that I've missed, please contact me and I'll add it to the list.
Read My Story / Blog ... and if you find this list useful, let me know.

(Personally Recommended Centers **)

Centers in the United States
Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center - Massachusetts **
The Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center, located on the main hospital campus of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), represents the forefront of technological advancement in radiation therapy. The construction of the proton therapy facility was jointly funded by the hospital and the National Cancer Institute to meet the increasing medical demand for high precision radiation therapy provided by proton therapy. The proton radiation therapy program builds on more than forty years of pioneering work and experience gained by the physicians, physicists, and clinical support personnel at Harvard University's Cyclotron Laboratory.

The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute - Florida **
Our hope is that the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute will not only provide the best in cancer treatment, but will also forward the field of cancer therapeutics through clinical and basic research. UF Proton Therapy Institute is ideally staffed, situated and structured as a major clinical research facility, and will serve as a center for multidisciplinary research involving all interests that touch cancer and its treatment. UF Proton Therapy Institute's interest extends into other clinical and scientific disciplines, including engineering, computer science, medical and legal ethics, social science, health economics, materials science and space technology.

Loma Linda University Medical Center - California
Proton radiation treatment differs from standard radiation therapy. If given in sufficient doses, conventional radiation therapy techniques will control many cancers.

Because of the physician's inability to adequately conform the irradiation pattern to the cancer, healthy tissues may be damaged with radiation. Consequently, a less-than-desired dose frequently is used to reduce damage to healthy tissues and avoid subsequent unacceptable side effects. The characteristics of proton beam therapy enable the physician to deliver full or higher doses while sparing surrounding healthy tissues and organs.

Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute - Indiana
Welcome to the Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute! MPRI is a unique global asset in a unique Hoosier locale. There are fewer than two dozen proton facilities worldwide treating the full constellation of human tumors, and only five others in the United States. Co-located with the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility on the Indiana University Bloomington campus, MPRI has been treating patients since 2004. The MPRI team has extensive experience treating numerous conditions including pediatric malignancies, prostate cancer, rare lesions of the central nervous system and spinal cord, in addition to complex cancer recurrences.

Proton Therapy Center at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center - Texas
The Proton Therapy Center at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center offers the most advanced form of proton therapy treatment available for prostate cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, brain tumors, lymphomas, sarcomas and pediatric cancers such as medulloblastoma, retinoblastoma, tumors of the central nervous system and others.

ProCure Proton Therapy Center - Oklahoma
The ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Oklahoma City is the first in ProCure's network of proton therapy centers that will provide this advanced radiation therapy to patients. The center is equipped with the most advanced proton therapy technology available. A team of experienced radiation oncologists and highly skilled medical professionals are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

The Roberts Proton Therapy Center - Pennsylvania

Patients here have access to one of science's most sophisticated weapons against cancer, which is seamlessly integrated with a full range of oncology services at Penn's Abramson Cancer Center.

Centers Around The World
Proton Therapy Australia
The Australian Proton Therapy Facility provides the most technologically advanced radiotherapy in the world; a centre of excellence where all types of cancers are treated with the optimal source of radiation.

Wanjie Proton Therapy Center (China)
After many years investigation, this project proposal was committed to the directorate of Wanjie Group. Sun Qiyu, chairman of Wanjie Group, had visited many proton therapy centers and consulted more than 100 famous radiation physicists and radiation oncologists in the world. In the year of 2002, he decided to import the latest version of advanced proton facility in the world, and it's running for clinical service started by the end of 2004.
